I specialize in providing independent assurance on the proper use and management of donor funds, ensuring transparency, compliance, and accountability in alignment with both organizational policies and donor requirements (e.g., World Bank, EU, SIDA, Helvetas, UN agencies, EBRD, etc.).

My role involves:

• Planning and executing audits across local NGOs, programs, and partner organizations.
• Conducting risk-based audits, focusing on high-risk areas such as procurement, grant management, sub-recipient monitoring, and financial reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with donor-specific regulations, such as cost principles, allowable expenditures, procurement thresholds, and reporting requirements.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, governance, and risk management processes across programmatic, and operational areas.
• Delivering detailed audit reports with practical, risk-prioritized recommendations to improve internal systems, and promote accountability.
• Collaborating with program and finance teams to ensure that audit findings are addressed, tracked, and remediated through effective action plans.

My responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the planning and execution of audits, including fieldwork, document review, and data analysis.
• Reviewing financial records, supporting documentation, and procurement processes to verify compliance with donor requirements and organizational procedures.
• Helping to monitor sub-grantees and implementing partners, ensuring that financial and programmatic activities align with funding agreements and donor expectations.
• Preparing working papers, audit evidence, and summaries to support the development of audit reports.
• Staying up to date on donor rules and regulations (e.g., USAID, UN agencies, EU, Global Fund), and assisting program teams in understanding key compliance obligations.
