During my time at Jordan Hospital, I function as an intern. My responsibilities include:
- Rotating through major departments such as internal medicine, general surgery, emergency room, gynecology, and pediatrics.
- Taking patient histories, performing physical examinations, and conducting diagnostic tests.
- Attending and participating in daily morning rounds.
- Developing treatment plans and following up with patients.
- Presenting medical topics in noon conferences for the entire medical team.
- Attending weekly lectures on medical research.
- Conducting and submitting research to international journals.
- Presenting weekly interesting cases encountered during shifts.
- Working night shifts with the categorical residents.
During my time at HCA, my role included:
- Working within a multidisciplinary team in cardiology, pulmonary, critical care units, and outpatient clinics, gaining a comprehensive understanding
of the US healthcare system.
- Improving my communication skills with patients and other team members.
- Actively participating in patient diagnosis, management, and daily follow-up, enhancing my clinical diagnostic and critical thinking abilities.
- Participating in various procedures and clinics, including:
*Heart catheterization procedures
*Venous ablation
*ICU/CCU ward rounds
*Outpatient heart and pulmonary clinics

Under the supervision of Dr. Chris Stead, Consultant Cardiologist, I was able to:
- Build a strong educational foundation in medical sciences, including cardiovascular physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Gain hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as ECGs interpretations, and the basics of echocardiography and stress tests.
- Become proficient in performing physical examinations and analyzing patient histories.
- Enhance my knowledge of cardiovascular diseases and treatment protocols through clinical practice and study.
- Improve communication skills with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Learn to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Under the supervision of Professor Christopher Boos, Consultant Cardiologist, my role included:
- Participating in multiple consultants and advanced nurse practitioner ward rounds in coronary care and acute cardiac units at Poole and Royal
Bournemouth Hospitals.
- Working with elective and urgent diagnostic angiography and coronary interventions team.
- Participating in specialty clinics.
- Gaining experience in procedures such as DC cardioversion, Bradycardia pacing, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
- Observing transthoracic echocardiography testing, ambulatory cardiac monitoring testing and analysis, and basics of cardiac CT and MRI imaging.
- Acquiring skills in conducting exercise stress echocardiography and interpretation.
During my time in the cardiology department working under the supervision of Dr. Sujata Khambekar, I gained the opportunity to:
- Enhance my skills in advanced cardiac imaging techniques, such as echocardiography and MRI.
- Improve my understanding of cardiovascular physiology and disease management.
- Contribute to the management of heart failure and atrial fibrillation through diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
- Be involved in the care of patients with adult congenital heart disease, addressing their unique and complex needs.
- Gain extensive experience in general cardiology, cardiac imaging, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and adult congenital heart disease.
